Reiki can promote health and healing of self and others.  The word healing is used in the sense of regaining harmony and wholeness...balance.  Usui Shiki Ryoho addresses the WHOLE person on the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels and those we cannot identify at the present.

It has been defined as having four aspects: healing practice, personal development, spiritual discipline and mystic order.  It also includes the Nine Elements; Oral tradition, Spiritual Lineage, History, Initiation, Symbols, Treatment, Form of teaching, Monetary exchange, Precepts (awaken the questions inside the student in the process of becoming aware of whole, body and spirit)

Classes will be held Monday Oct. 28,2019 4-8pm & Monday Nov. 4,2019 4-8pm.  Cost is $125 for all 8 hrs.  Class is open to ALL, however, it has been approved for 8 CEU credits through the North Dakota Board of Massage.  You can call Rebecca Forde if you want to confirm.   At the end of this 8 hr course, you will receive a certificate of Certification in Reiki I and a binder with your name and all your teachings. Please do NOT share these materials with others.  This is a sacred tradition of integrity and reverence to be passed down fom Reiki Master (Tracy Gilles) to Student.  If you choose to continue your studies, a Reiki II class will be available on Dec. 3 and 5th.

Here is a brief summary of what you will learn:
*Brief History of Reiki
*Principles of how Reiki works
*Relationship of endocrine glands to Chakras
*Hand positions and treatment procedures for self-treatment, treating others in seated or prone position
*Three mudras for charging hands
*How to scan a person's electromagnetic field
*Ways to use Reiki in daily life

The attunement for Reiki I activates dormant energy centers in your head, heart, and hands allowing you to channel Reiki Energy by touching.

There are no prerequisites for Reiki I training, but it is highly recommended that the student receive at least one Reiki treatment before the first attunement.

FLAXSEED- DON'T BUY IT PRE GROUND!! (You need the oils more than the seed!)

My mother is the one who told me to try flaxseed when I was getting kind of moody and low energy.  It turns out that flaxseed, if you grind it yourself, can turn around an emotional rollercoaster and balance out those PMS hormones like nobody's business!  I had a friend of mine tell me, " Oh I tried flaxseed, it didn't do much for me."  I asked, "Did you grind it yourself?"
She said, " No, I bought it preground."

Let me explain something to you.... the abundance of omega-3 fatty acids found in flaxseed are mostly in the oil of the seed.  Which are then released when you grind it (you need to grind it by the way) but will evaporate after being exposed to air for more than a couple days.  So buy yourself an $8 grinder and grind 2 tbsp of it every morning. Put it in your V8 juice, your oatmeal, your yogurt or even your cereal.  It's got a nice light nutty taste and YOU WILL NOTICE A DIFFERENCE.  When I really need some help, for example right now when the seasons are changing, I take 2 tbsp in the morning and 2 more around 3 pm (in a snack like yogurt).  Man, I'm making myself hungry...

Received this from my mom. Fascinating! I haven't tried them all so feel free to comment how well any of these work for you!

This information was in The New York Times several weeks ago as part of their "Spotlight on the Home" series that highlighted creative and fanciful ways to solve common problems. 1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.

What things are important to you?  If you are feeling overwhelmed make sure you aren't over extending yourself.  Here is a wonderful reminder my friend Peggy sent me.

The Mayonnaise  Jar

When  things in your life seem almost too much to handle,

When 24  hours in a day is not enough;
remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of  coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy  class
and  had some items in front of him.

When the class began, wordlessly,

he  picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar
and start to fill it with  golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and  poured
it into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again
if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand
and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else

He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded
With an unanimous  'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the  table
and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively
filling the empty space between the sand.
The students laughed.

'Now,' said the  professor, as the laughter subsided,
'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things - God,  family,
children, health, friends, and favorite passions
Things  that if everything else was lost
and  only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else --

The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar  first,' he continued,
'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf  balls.
The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy  on the small stuff,
You will never have room for the things that  are
important to you.

So...

Pay attention
to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Play with your children.

Take time to get medical checkups.

Take your partner out to dinner.

There will always be time
to clean the house and fix the dripping tap.

'Take care of the golf balls first --

The things that really  matter.

Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand

and inquired what the coffee represented.

The  professor smiled.

'I'm glad you asked'.

It just goes to show you that  no matter how full your life may seem,
there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'

Please share this with other "Golf Balls"

I  just did......
